Araksa's Organic Garden

I would like to take this opportunity to introduce my company, Araksa. We are located in Chiang Mai Thailand. The tea plants at Araksa are a combination of Camellia Assamica, Camellia taliensis, Camellia sinensis from China. In addition to tea plants, we also cultivate lemongrass, ginger, mint, butterfly pea flowers, Magnolia Champaca, Torch Ginger, Osmanthus, bamboo, avocado and bananas.

Araksa's entire garden is Certified USDA & EU Organic by Ceres- GmbH since 2018. In order to maintain a healthy and organic garden the following are a few of our management practices.

Soil Health

Our Garden Manager, Raju Subba says, Healthy soil is healthy mankind". For sustained growth of tea emphasis has been given on microclimate management by providing adequate shade, soil organic matter, ideal pH, effective drainage and other cultural practices which directly or in directly affect the micro.

Buffer Zone

A barrier or 'buffer zone' has been created all along the borders of Araksa's garden to prevent the trespassing of humans, animals and other chemicals carrier. We create natural buffer zones with various plants and trees that work to create a natural air and ground filtration system. This method helps to prevent unwanted pesticides and fertilizers from neighbouring gardens.

Pest Management

A form of natural pest control is planting various fruits and flowers that encourage bird life to prey on insects. At Araksa we also plant certain species of trees and weeds that repel insects.

Araksa's Organic Boutique Tea Factory

Our Tea Factory operates a mix of traditional orthodox machinery from India as well as new technology from Taiwan. We source each machinery to craft our unique and fine tea.

Raju Suba, our tea manager says, Tea making is an art". Each of our teas are carefully crafted and designed. Our range of tea includes, White Tea, Green Tea Black Tea and Herbal Teas. View our full organic tea collection here.

GMP Codex & Organic Certification

Our tea factory has been certified GMP Codex by SGS since 2019 and certified USDA & EU Organic by Ceres- GmbH since 2018.

Utmost hygiene and cleanliness is practiced in factory to avoid any contamination and our tea goes through line of quality check , like checking moisture content , foreign matters , and tea tasting .

Araksa's Social Responsibility

Everything begins with people. We believe people are the bedrock of a sustainable community and by employing local people and empowering them with new skills, together we can do meaningful work. Our employees are a mix of individuals from the Akka Tribe, Hmong Tribe, Lisu Tribe and local Thais.

Buying Locally

We do our very best to buy supplies locally to support the local economy and culture. The Sugar Can Rice crackers served at the Tea House are bought from a local woman who harvest's from her own rice field and makes it all by herself. It is a favorite amongst our guests who also buy them to take home. This not only generates local income but also helps to sustain the traditional Thai snacks.

It is our goal to offer locally produced products to our visitors. We hope to make the community proud of their local businesses.

Local Employment

We try our best to hire locally and give them the opportunity to work near home. With limited work in the area, most people have to move away from family and find jobs in the city. We see the value in training and developing local talent. This will also help to further develop the local economy and fostor sustainable business.
